1973 Porsche 911 Targa
Porsche 1973.5 911T - The ultimate vintage road/drivers ed car. The previous owner put $70,000 into making the car a pristine example. Original engine and transmission has been rebuilt and has 7,000 miles : amazing paint job (original color Gemini blue $12,000) - new air conditioning ($6,000) - new recaro seats - etc. To make the car really special- I put another $40,000 in : I took out the original engine (saved for the new buyer) and replaced it with a low milage (50,000) 1985 Carera 3.2L engine adding 100 hp to the car. I also changed out the complete suspension ( shocks, struts, sway bar control arms, torsion bars, spring plates) to upgrade it for track and street. I had the transmission redone again (polish lead teeth and sliders and lap syncros) to clean up the sloppiness in the 915 gear box and replaced the shifter with a Wevo short shift. I replaced the complete interior with Porsche leather (saving all the original leatherette in case the next owner wanted to bring the car back to original). The seats were changed to leather Recaro pole position racing seats. A removable roll bar was installed and Schroth 5 point harnesses were added. The Fuchs wheels (5.5x15) were replaced with newly restored Fuchs 6x16 wheels and Toyo PS888 tires. The car has been aligned and corner balanced. New front oil cooler and elephant racing lines. New brake lines. All gauges sent to North Hollywood speedo for restoration. New Dansk sport muffler. Here is a partial work list - To much has been done in both restorations to list: This car has a 3.2L engine with 55,000 miles. - The car has been repainted to original color Gemini Metallic Blue - New Dansk sport muffler - The total interior has been redone in Porsche leather - New lightweight RS carpeting and Coco mats - Wevo shifter - Alpine radio and CD - Factory air that has been upgraded to really work! - All gauges redone at North Hollywood Speedometer and upgraded to LED lights - Momo steering wheel - RS America door panels covered in Porsche leather. Original doors are in excellent shape - Recaro Pole Position leather seats and Schroth 5 point harness.
